You're a mean one, real world.

I have almost survived my second week of being in the classroom. I say almost because Friday isn't here yet and when Friday rolls around at school, there is just no telling what the day might hold. I so wish I could share some of the stories that I have but I do have ethics and morals and would never put anyone on the Internet who didn't ask to be put there. Except for Taylor.

One of the main things that I have realized while working in a school is that wearing comfortable shoes is  a MUST. However, does anyone make comfortable shoes that are still attractive? The answer is no, they do not. So while my purple flats may go beautifully with my outfit, I am usually wearing my Sperry's. Which I have had since my freshman year of college and are in desperate need of replacing. I wouldn't even call them shoes anymore because they don't even really have a shape anymore. So if any of the three people who read this blog have cute/comfortable shoe ideas, please send them my way. I was grocery shopping and thinking about how much my feet hurt and then had a thought that I may need insoles. I almost broke down in tears in the middle of Wal-Mart because of all the "I'm really getting old" emotions. In reality I know I'm only 21 and just graduated college, but my feet, hips, eyes, and back all tell a different story. One of the kids in my class today told me that he was "really good at guessing people's ages" so I let him have a go at it thinking he would tell me I looked 15 like everyone else does. Nope, apparently I look like a 35 year old according to third graders. Also, please know that I went to bed last night at 9:00.

Can't you see now why all of these emotions are bubbling up?

So this weekend I have big plans to visit Waco and College Station for the FIRST TIME since I moved home. I make a mental list of all the things I miss about College Station on a daily basis because studies show that it's super healthy to dwell on the past. NOT.

But anyway, while I am there for my short visit I plan to do the following:

1. Visit Target, Old Navy, Hobby Lobby, and Hastings. ALL IN ONE DAY.
2. Have my choice of any kind of food I can think of.
3. Go to Jamba Juice
4. Go to H-E-B and not feel like there's a possibility of being mugged.
5. Drive somewhere and not see any tractors.

I'm even going to drive down Texas and University without cursing at the stop lights or traffic. THAT is how happy I am to be back in civilization again. Actually I'm sure that's not going to really happen. I can't control my road rage. I'm just going to go into the trip HOPING to not curse at the stop lights or traffic. That's a much more reasonable goal.

I can't believe that at one point last year I told myself it would be a great idea to graduate early. And then I even came here and defended my decision like it was still a good idea.

I'll let you in on a little secret though.

I only wrote that post to try to reason with myself. I knew back then it was going to be way different after graduation.

Yes I saved money and probably made the responsible choice but really I would much rather be taking naps after class and staying up until 2 than saving money. I would also really like to stomp my feet and pout right now too so you can go ahead and picture me doing that as well.

Or you could picture me making this face. Just with less chubby cheeks.

Mary! Hey! Your blog is very cute : ) I agree with you about the shoes. That is why I wear comfy flip flops everyday but then again that probably doesn't fly at a school. Also, I'm jealous of all those stores you went to. Not that I don't LOVE Wal-Mart and Ross... Hope to see you soon!

Thanks Marie! I would wear flip-flops too if I could. They frown upon them at school though. Lame!

Can't wait to see you next weekend!

Just had to give some advice, I just got some cute and comfortable shoes from the Bass outlet and trust me, I am a harsh critic. Also, these shoe brands are expensive but very comfortable and if you wear them everyday worth the investment: Born, Sofft, and Merrell. Hope this helps!
